A lovely discovery; highly recommended. Positive: Spacious room, very clean and comfortable. Lovely bed. Provisions in the common area were fabulous. Negative: In our room the corner of the carpet lifts, creating a trip hazard.

Excellent value for money, beautiful garden aspect and close to all you need Positive: Walking distance to shops and restaurants, quiet, breakfast allocation is excellent and rooms beautifully appointed.

Comfortable motel style stay at a historic house Positive: Rowan Brae in Blackheath is a rambling historic house set in a large garden. Access to our room was via key safe. Our room towards the back of the house was not large, but it was very comfortable and clean. A good range of self-serve breakfast options were available in the small kitchen dining room. Negative: Our experience staying at the back of the house was closer to a stay in comfortable motel, rather than staying in a grand old mountains house.

Positive: Very comfortable, light, spacious room (room No. 1), with excellent bed. Kitchen well stocked with a multitude of choices for a self serve continental breakfast.
